Renault wants to produce two models of LCV in Russia

French car producer Renault plans to define a site for production of two models of light commercial vehicles in Russia, informed General Manager of Renault in Russia, Bruno Anselen. By his words, Renault is going to produce in Russia two models, one of which will be absolutely new and the second one – from the existing models (Kangoo, Trafic and Master).

Mr. Anselen remarked that Renault considers several sites for production of LCV organization in different regions, including “IzhAuto”. Therewith, he didn’t exclude that project could be realized in collaboration with some partner of Renault. Besides, the head of Renault in Russia informed that Renault plans to assemble engines and transmissions for its low-cost models in AUTOVAZ, wrote “Finmarket” agency.

Meanwhile, alliance Renault-Nissan continues negotiations about its share in AUTOVAZ increasing, in spite of degradation of macroeconomic situation in the world. As the head of alliance, Carlos Ghosn, informed “Interfax” agency in a motor show in Frankfurt, the deal should be soon closed. Commenting the question about shares in AUTOVAZ distributing between Renault and Nissan, he remarked that this question is being discussed. Mr. Ghosn specified that the decision about deal also depends on Russian shareholders of AUTOVAZ.
