KAMAZ and Brazilian Marcopolo will create a joint venture of buses production in Russia

KAMAZ and Brazilian concern Marcopolo S.A. will create a joint venture of production and sales of buses Marcopolo on chassis of KAMAZ that met the requirements of Euro-4. According to the signed agreement, the joint venture will be created on parity basement.

Buses will be produced in capacities of subsidiary’s facilities of KAMAZ – NefAZ in Neftekamsk. They will be equipped with engines of American company Сummins, that produced by the joint venture of KAMAZ and Сummins, and also axles of Daimler AG. The start of sales should be in the second quarter of 2012. The investment volume was not announced by company, wrote Reuters agency. Partners plan to reach a capacity of 3 thousand buses in 2016.

Marcopolo is a Brazilian concern, which has four enterprises in Brazil and also assembly plants in Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, South Africa and Portugal. Marcopolo produces buses of all classes, which are for markets of countries of South America, Asia and Africa. The program includes 25 basic models – micro buses of total assignment, tourist buses of average and big capacity, multi-seats interurban vehicles.
