The market of new trucks fell by 19% in August

According to the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT", the volume of new truck market in Russia was 6.3 thousand units, which is less by 19% than a year ago in August of 2018.

The leader of the truck market is still the Russian manufacturer KAMAZ, the share of which was about 30% of the total volume in the last month. In quantitative terms, it corresponds to 1.8 thousand units - less by 31% than the result of August of 2017.

The second place is occupied by the domestic GAZ, the indicator of which fell by 0.4% up to 689 vehilces. The Swedish Scania closes the TOP- three (502 units, -4.7%). The TOP-five of leaders also included German Mercedes-Benz (449 units, -20%) and MAN (373 units - 38.9%).

As the experts of the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" noted, the Russian truck market has fallen so much for the first time for more than two years. So, a double-digit decline occurred the last time in February of 2016 (-25%). Nevertheless, due to the good market dynamics, which the new trucks showed since the beginning of 2018, their sales for eight months are still in the "plus".

The market volume for this period was 50.6 thousand units - more by 10.1% than in January-August of 2017.
