Ford Explorer became the leader in the growth of brand sales in Russia

Sales of the flagship SUV Ford Explorer grew by 79% in August and they were 323 cars. According to the results of eight months of 2018, 2,222 vehicles of this model were sold, reported the press service of Ford Sollers.

As it was noted, the share of crossovers and SUVs exceeded 55% of the total sales of the brand in Russia. Currently, Ford offers in the SUV segment three models - compact crossover Ford EcoSport, mid-size crossover Ford Kuga and seven-seater SUV Ford Explorer. In general, from January to August 2018, Russian dealers of Ford sold 33,568 vehicles, which is more by 11% in compare with the last year.

In addition, Ford Explorer became the leader among Ford SUVs to attract customers who previously owned a car of another foreign brand, therewith, over 10% of buyers having passed a premium brand car to the trade-in. Under the programs "trade-in" and "loyal trade-in" (in the latter case, the car is purchased with the participation of the funds received when another Ford car was received by the system trade-in), today the every second Ford or over 50% of all brand cars are sold in Russia, this share is preserved in the sales of models of the SUV line.

At the same time seven-seater SUV Ford Explorer attracts buyers more than all other Ford, who previously owned cars of other brands. The share of Ford Explorer sold under the trade-in programs reaches 58% of total sales, while the share of loyal trade-in is only 7.6%. Every tenth buyer changes into Ford Explorer instead of a premium brand car.
