AvtoVAZ received 3.1 billion rubles of the net profit under IFRS in the first half of the year

By the results of the first half of 2018 AVTOVAZ received a net profit under IFRS in amount of 3.1 billion rubles against a loss of 4.41 billion rubles a year before, in accordance with the company's financial statements. AVTOVAZ's revenue in the reporting period grew by 31.5% up to 134.75 billion rubles, the operating profit was 7.63 billion rubles against a loss of 194 million rubles a year before, pre-tax profit - 4.13 billion rubles against a loss of 4.24 billion in the first half of 2017.

AVTOVAZ President, Yves Karakatzanis, noted that with the support of the shareholders - Groupe Renault and Rostech - AVTOVAZ will continue to work hard to implement ambitious medium-term plan. "We leave the forecast for market growth in 2018 at the level of 10-12%, but we emphasize a number of potential risks that may influence the development of the Russian automotive market in the second half of the year. It is the reduction in measures of effective state support, possible negative fluctuations in the foreign exchange market and the market of raw materials. As a result of all of 2018, we expect the retaining of the positive operating margins," – noted Mr. Karakatzanis.

According to him, the financial results demonstrated the right direction of the development strategy of the company and LADA brand in the first half of 2018. Thus, AvtoVAZ took advantage of growth in the Russian automotive market, by achieving a record market share for the LADA brand for 6 months - 20%, sales growth in export markets and improving macroeconomic indicators. These factors ensured the Group's consolidated revenue increase by 31.5%, as well as positive operating margin and net result.
