"Isuzu Sollers" will build the production complex of a new car plant in Ulyanovsk


The company Isuzu Sollers will begin the construction of the production complex of a new car plant in the Ulyanovsk region in the third quarter of 2018. It was discussed at a meeting of the Governor of the Ulyanovsk region, Sergei Morozov, with the leadership of UAZ and Isuzu Sollers, informed the press service of the regional government.

"Under the support of the Ministry of Economic Development and the Government of the Ulyanovsk Region on the territory of the industrial park UAZ, it is realized a large investment project on the creation of an automobile assembly plant together with the Isuzu concern. We receive full support from the governor in the course of implementing this investment project, "- commented the General Director of Isuzu Sollers, Mikhail Belobrov.

Recall, on May 26th in Moscow, "Isuzu Sollers" concluded a special contract with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Ulyanovsk region for the implementation of the technology partnership project in Russia. The partnership provides the creation of a new joint product in the mid-tonnage truck segment and export through the Isuzu distribution network around the world. The total investment in the project will be more than 6 billion rubles, including 1.3 billion rubles in R & D. Production within the joint venture is planned to be launched in 2021 on new facilities created in Ulyanovsk. When implementing the project, it is planned to provide a level of localization over 80%, including engine location, gearboxes, frames, electronic engine management systems, ADAS systems and other components. In addition to the localization of the units themselves, the project will also use local castings and materials of Russian production. During the project implementation, the parties intend to make additional investments in new technologies, related to the development of cars on gas engine fuel, hybrid power installations, using electric traction, as well as in autonomous control technology and software for telematic services.
