The first electric buses KAMAZ will appear in Moscow in July

KAMAZ, which previously won a tender by the production and supply of 100 electric buses and ultra-fast charging stations to Mosgortrans, will give the customer the first electric bus in July of this year. "Half of the electric buses from this lot will be delivered before the end of the year, and the first unit will be given already in July, another 14 units - in August," - said Nikolai Pronin, KAMAZ Deputy General Director for Passenger Transport. "The rest 50 electric buses will be shipped to the capital in the next year." Also within the contract, there are 31 charging stations installed in the territory specified by the customer. Moscow is the first city in Russia, which is embarking on a wide introduction of electric buses.

As the press service of KAMAZ informed, the technical assignment provided for the purchase of low-floor vehicles, accommodating not less than 85 passengers. Seats are at least 30. Innovative vehicles must have climate control, video surveillance and satellite navigation, USB connectors for charging mobile devices, access to Wi-Fi. KAMAZ-6282 electric buses meet all these and other requirements. In the KAMAZ-6282 second-generation electric bus, modern components of traction electrical equipment are used, incl. lithium-titanate batteries with a service life of 10 years. The recharging takes only 10-20 minutes, which is ten times less than the average charging time of the previous generation of batteries. Charging is possible in conditions of low temperatures: rechargeable batteries work without additional heating systems even in winter. According to the competitive bidding conditions, the largest Russian automaker will also provide after-sales service for the delivered equipment during 15 years. It is known that another 100 electric buses for the Russian capital will be announced in December.
