Renault modernizes its Moscow plant

In 2018, the Moscow plant Renault strengthens its leading position in the field of innovative industrial production. Among the most notable projects there is an increase in the level of robotization of the enterprise, a project for the development of unmanned vehicles for industrial production (AGV) and the digitization of logistics systems.

As the press service of Renault Russia informs, as part of production efficiency increasing, a single production line is being implemented in the welding department, in which 46 new robots are installed. In 2016, the company began the developing of a project to develop and implement unmanned vehicles for industrial production (AGV). They are designed and manufactured at the plant itself and they are designed to transport components from warehouses and subassembly sites to the conveyor. AGV have a high level of localization (more than 50%). At the end of 2017 Renault Russia sent the first lot of 12 AGV to the plant in Izhevsk. In 2018, it is planned to send another 15.

Also at the Moscow plant Renault actively used 3D-printers, in particular, to create protection for the used tools. Finally, IT specialists Renault Russia developed an information platform for the logistics system, which permits to improve significantly the processes of storage and warehousing, communication with dealers, automate the distribution of applications for carriers. This system is now accepted as a standard for global Renault and it is being introduced as a working tool at the enterprises of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance worldwide.
