In Russia there are more than 2 million diesel passenger cars

According to the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT", as of January 1st, 2018 in Russia there were 2.1 million cars equipped with a diesel engine. Thus, their share was about 5% of the total Russian parc.

The most common such model is the SUV Toyota Land Cruiser Prado - at the beginning of this year in our country there were 81.4 thousand such units. The second place pf this rating is occupied by Toyota Land Cruiser with the indicator of 73,9 thousand units. The top-three of leaders is closed by Mitsubishi Pajero (66.9 thousand units). The top- five also includes pick-up Toyota Hilux (63,3 thousand units) and off-road vehicle Volkswagen Touareg (59,7 thousand units).

Then two models of Mitsubishi follow - pick-up L200 (56,8 thousand units) and SUV Pajero Sport (55,9 thousand units). In addition, KIA Sorento (51.3 thousand units), SsangYong Kyron (48.3 thousand units) and Hyundai Santa Fe (45.9 thousand units) are also into the TOP-10 of the Russian parc of diesel cars.
