Isuzu increased the production in Ulyanovsk more than 2 times in 2017

The Ulyanovsk Isuzu plant increased the production of trucks 2.2 times to 5,160 units in 2017. The company produced 3836 lightweight chassis of the N series (3.5-9.5 tons gross weight), 1086 chassis of the medium-capacity chassis of the F series (12-18 tons) and 238 heavy trucks of the C and E category (26-33 tons). The increase in the production of N-series trucks was 133%, the F-series showed an increase of 60%. The most popular Isuzu chassis in 2017 were NPR75 (1980 units, 38%), NMR85 (926 units, 18%), NQR90 (871 units, 17%) and FVR34 (744 units, 14%), reported the press service "Isuzu Rus".

As the production director of Isuzu Rus in Ulyanovsk Pavel Golovin says, the high positive dynamics was caused by the introduction of new requirements of the Customs Union from 2018, according to which all equipment must comply with the Euro-5 standard. This led to an increase in purchases in the third and fourth quarters of 2017, when many large customers decided to buy cheaper Euro-4 equipment. Since 2018, the Isuzu plant in Ulyanovsk has completely switched to production of cars of the Euro-5 standard.

In 2017, for the certification tests at the plant, a prototype of a light chassis NMS85 with a 4x4 wheel arrangement and a prototype of a chassis with a gas engine NPR82 (CNG) was assembled at the plant. The start of the NMS85 series production is planned in the first quarter of 2018, the launch of the NPR82 series in the third quarter of 2018.

In the framework of cooperation with the company "Simaz" and the government of the Ulyanovsk region, the Isuzu Rus plant assembles the N-series chassis for the production of city and intercity buses. The first samples successfully passed certification, at present serial production begins. Let's remind, that "Isuzu Rus" produces in Ulyanovsk the whole line of automobile chassis of categories N, F, C, E with full weight from 3,5 up to 33 tons. Production of heavy trucks (30 tons or more) was opened in May of 2017.
