Mazda and Volvo – are the leaders by safety of residual value of cars

The analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" conducted the fourth (fourth annual) study "Residual value - 2018" (within the framework of which the residual value indices were calculated and the rating of the models by segments was compiled, and there were defined the leading brands in the classes STANDARD and PREMIUM.

So, in the class STANDARD, the Japanese-branded Mazda became again the leader (safety of the residual value - 97.32%). The second place was taken by Toyota (94.98%), the third – by Subaru (90.60%). In the PREMIUM class, the Swedish brand Volvo became the winner with a residual value of 87.06%. Behind it there is the Japanese Lexus (82.35%), and German Porsche closes the top three (82.02%).

"Residual value research is useful both for sellers and car buyers, giving an idea of how much the particular model loses in value after a certain period of time. As practice shows, the cars that for three years have risen in price the most loss the least in the price," - said Dmitry Yarygin, deputy head of the analytics department of the agency "AUTOSTAT".
