Hyundai plans to sell 3200 trucks in Russia in 2018

South Korean company Hyundai plans to sell on the Russian market 3,200 trucks in 2018 that will be produced at the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad. Within three - four years, the company plans to increase sales of its cars on the Russian market up to 8,000 units, said Donho Choi, the director of the export division of Hyundai Commercial Vehicles. At the same time, he noted that Avtotor is the only car manufacturer and a partner of the company in Russia.

The cars produced in Kaliningrad are sold in Russia; their deliveries are planned to Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Belarus. The mass production of Hyundai trucks "Avtotor" began in September of 2012. The range of commercial vehicles includes models HD35, HD65, HD78, HD120, and HD170. Hyundai plans to expand the line with the development of production on the Avtotor large-capacity vehicles, added Donho Choi. In addition, according to him, Hyundai will open 10 new dealer centers in Russia in 2018 (today there are 44 new ones).

The director added that in total, in Russia, according to the company's estimations, 55 dealers must work to ensure the sale, warranty, after-sales service and spare parts supply. Particular attention will be paid to the areas where industry develops and there is a need for freight transport.
