The company Volvo Car Russia was told about the results and plans

On February 8th, within the framework of a business press breakfast, Volvo Car Russia summed up the results of its work in 2017 and it shared plans for 2018. Top managers of the company took part in the event: the president and general director Michael Malmsten, the sales director Alexey Tarasov, the after-sales service director Pavel Vorobyov and the corporate communications director Anton Svekolnikov.

For the Volvo Cars, the year 2017 was the fourth consecutive year of record global sales, which increased by 7% compared to 2016 and reached 571,577 cars. At the same time, 7010 new Volvo cars were handed over to customers in Russia in the last year - by 25.5% more than in 2016. At the same time, the brand's sales growth was twice as high as in the whole Russian market (+ 12%).

As for Volvo Car Russia plans, in the spring of 2018 it is planned to open the dealer centers of the Swedish brand in Vladivostok and Kaliningrad. In addition, in May it is expected to sign a dealer agreement with the holding company "AVILON". Also this year the company plans to enter the market of Kazakhstan - the dealer center will appear in Almaty.

According to the head of Volvo Car Russia, Michael Malmsten, in 2018 the Russian market can reach the level of 1.7 million units, i.е. its growth will continue, but at a slower pace than in the last year. The market will continue to grow at the expense of the mass segment, while in the premium segment, the growth should not be expected. But with regard to his brand, Mr. Malmsten was more optimistic, expecting this year to double-digit growth (over 10%) by sales of Volvo cars on the Russian market. At the same time, the company will make the main bet on the updated crossovers XC60 and XC40.
