According to the director of the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, Sergey Tselikov, this year the market of new cars in Russia may fall by 30-50%, depending on the development scenarios.



In 2017 import of cars reached the level of the previous year


Import of cars to Russia in the end of 2017 remained at the level of the previous year and it was 267.7 thousand cars (+ 0.3%). According to the Federal Customs Service (FTS) of Russia, in the reporting period, cars were imported to Russia for 6 billion 697.5 million dollars. At the same time, foreign countries imported 250.2 thousand cars for 6 billion 579.5 million dollars, from the CIS countries - 17.5 thousand vehicles for 118 million dollars.

Import of trucks grew by 56.6% up to 31.8 thousand units worth 1 billion 998.8 million dollars in the last year. Among them, 27,200 trucks worth $ 1,140.6 million were delivered from non-CIS countries, the rest 4.6 thousand vehicles for $ 858.2 million - from the CIS countries.

The export of cars from Russia for 2017 grew by 24.1% and it was 84.4 thousand units for a total of 1 billion 320.2 million dollars. At the same time, 32.8 thousand units were sent to non-CIS countries for $ 608.4 million, to CIS countries - 51.6 thousand cars worth $ 711.8 million.

Exports of trucks increased by 2.1% and amounted to 14.6 thousand cars worth $ 335.9 million. In the non-CIS countries, 3.7 thousand trucks were delivered for 136.9 million dollars, for CIS countries - 10.9 thousand vehicles for 199 million dollars.
