According to the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT", according to the results of 2017 in St. Petersburg, 46.2 thousand new passenger cars of the SUV segment were sold. This is more by 29% than the result of 2016 (35.8 thousand units).

The leader of the market of crossovers and SUVs in the Northern capital, as well as in Moscow, for the first time was Hyundai Creta, which reached 4.3 thousand units in 2017, which is 2.8 times more than in the year before. The leader of 2016 - Renault Duster (2.8 thousand units) dropped to the second position of the rating, sales of which decreased by 9%.

The third place was taken by Volkswagen Tiguan (2.7 thousand units), the sales of which, in contrast, grew 2.7 times. Outside the top- three of leaders this time was Mitsubishi Outlander (2.6 thousand units, + 44%), behind which there is Renault Kaptur (2.4 thousand units, an increase of 3.1 times).

The TOP-10 of the St. Petersburg SUV market in 2017 also included: Ford Kuga (1.9 thousand units, + 47%), Toyota RAV4 (1.7 thousand units, + 25%), Nissan Qashqai (1, 6 thousand units, + 18%), KIA Sportage (1,5 thousand units, + 40%) and Nissan X-Trail (1,4 thousand units, + 10%).
