According to the information of the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT", the share of cars older than 10 years in the secondary market during the crisis increased significantly. Analysts say that until 2014, the share of these cars was about 40% of the secondary car market.

In 2015-2016, the share of cars older than 10 years grew up to 44-45%, and in the current year of 2017 it reached the maximum level, exceeding the 50% mark. That is, every second car sold in the secondary market is older than 10 years.

According to the director of the agency "AUTOSTAT", Sergei Tselikov, the crisis of the Russian economy of 2015-2016 affected significantly the purchasing power of the population. There are millions of people in the country who need a car, but do not have enough money for a new one. The only alternative for them is the purchase of an old car for 200-300 thousand rubles. Only in the current year 2017 more than 2.5 million people bought cars older than 10 years.
