The Russian car market returned to the top-five of European leaders in July

The automotive market in Russia, which continued to grow in July, was able to return to the top-five of European leaders, ahead of Spain. 

According to the data received by the agency "AUTOSTAT" in the national associations of car manufacturers in Europe, the leader by car sales is still Germany in July, where it was sold 283080 cars (+ 1.5%). Thus, after the June decline in demand in the German car market, positive dynamics is again recorded. The second place is held by the UK, whose car dealers sold 161,997 cars (-9.3%). As noted in the British Society of Automobile Manufacturers and Auto Dealers (SMMT), the negative dynamics is fixed for the fourth month in a row amid the growing uncertainty of the government's plans for Britain's withdrawal from the European Union.

The third result was shown by France – 147,519 cars, which is more by 10.9% compared to the last year. Italy comes the next with 145,363 sold cars (+ 5.9%). As noted in the Italian Association of Automobile Manufacturers (ANFIA), this is the best result since 2010.

If, during the considering of the car market in Europe we take into account Russia, then our country has risen to the fifth place of the European rating. According to preliminary estimates of the agency "AUTOSTAT", sales of cars were about 120 thousand units (excluding LCV) in the last month. Let's also add that the Spanish car market grew by 2.5% in July and it was 109,948 cars.
