Subaru can return some models to Russia

The Company Subaru is considering the possibility of returning to Russia models that were previously withdrawn from the Russian market. The general director of Subaru Motor, Yoshiki Kishimoto, informed about it the agency "AUTOSTAT".

"Today, when the Russian market is recovering gradually, we are considering the possibility of returning some models. It is early to say what cars exactly. We constantly monitor the requests of our customers, the interests of potential buyers and we decide to change the model range based on this knowledge," - he said.

Recall that at the end of 2013 – the beginning of 2014, Subaru completed sales of models of Subaru Impreza and Legacy in Russia due to low demand for cars in a body sedan with four-wheel drive. In 2014, the market was left by Subaru Tribeca, the production of which was discontinued. Last year, Russian brand dealers sold the latest Subaru BRZ in the configuration for the Russian market. As Yoshiki Kishimoto explained, this model left the Russian market due to the small demand for sports coupes and the high cost of implementing of the GLONASS ERA.

Currently, Subaru offers a mid-size crossover Forester, off-road wagon Outback, compact crossover Impreza XV, as well as sports sedan WRX STI in Russia.

As a result of five months of 2017, Russian dealers of Subaru sold 1993 cars - less by 8% than in the same period of the last year.
