Citroen plans to update the model range in Russia


The Company Citroen in the nearest future plans to supplement gradually the line in Russia with new models that will allow the brand to strengthen its presence in the market. The press service of Citroen informed about it the agency "AUTOSTAT", without revealing the names of the models. Earlier, in particular, at the Shanghai motor show it was shown a new global crossover Citroen C5 Aircross, and until the end it is planned to introduce another new model in the SUV segment.

Recall, the main novelty of Citroen in 2016 was the C4 Sedan of a new generation, sales of which began in October. In July of this year, a new generation of Jumpy wagon will appear in the Russian market, as well as a passenger version of this family - Spacetourer.

"As for the return of some of the models (for example, C1, C3), now it is rather a niche segment with little demand. Nevertheless, we are ready to consider the return of these models, if in this segment the prospect will open in the market," – informed the press service of Citroen.

As previously reported "AUTOSTAT", for the five months of 2017, Russian Citroen dealers sold 1561 cars, which is less by 5% than in the same period of last year.

"For the last 5 years, the Citroen model range has changed. It is connected, first of all, with the difficult economic situation in the country that we can see during the past few years and the subsequent reorientation of the market, directly related to consumer demand and their purchasing power. In such conditions, it is very difficult to keep the volumes, so the task, faced by Citroen, concerned, first of all, not the increase in sales volumes, but the need to minimize the financial vulnerability of the company in the conditions of the Russian economic crisis. We made a bet on the models that are the most profitable, restructured the business and managed to stop the uncontrolled decline that occurred in previous years, by finishing 2016 almost at break even. At the moment, Citroen includes models that proved to be the most resistant to the crisis and even showed a slight increase in their segments. Among them, including, C4 Sedan, which is produced locally in the plant in Kaluga, as well as cars of the commercial segment, "- said in the press service of Citroen.
