Chery will not refuse the localization of production in Russia

Company of Chery, despite the absence of its own assembly facilities in Russia, will continue to work on the deep localization of production. In an interview with the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" it was announced by the President and CEO of Chery Automobile Co. The strategic partner Chery will remain Derways plant.

According to Yin Tunyao, at the project launch in 2014, the level of localization of Chery in Derways was only 25 - 27%, including a welding and painting. "At the moment, when in Russia it was changed the method for calculating of the localization, it is difficult to say what we have the level", - he said.

According to the president of Chery, the load of production space at the plant Derways is now at the level of 40 - 50%. If it is necessary the production volume can be increased, also for the attraction of the higher number of local suppliers. "We are going to continue the course: deep localization of production lies in the strategy of the further development of Chery in Russia", - stated Mr. Yin.
