The luxury car market fell by 31% in March

Analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" conducted a study of the Russian market of new cars, which covers the Luxury segment. At the end of March 2016, the market volume was 122 units. It is 31% worse than a year earlier.

Three-quarters of the total market of luxury cars in the country falls on one model - Mercedes-Benz Maybach S-Class, which has replaced the luxury brand Maybach, which fell in the history. For example, in the last month 91 citizens of Russia became the owners of Mercedes-Benz Maybach S-Class - 35% less than a year ago. Then in the list of preferences of Russians there is Bentley (14 units; -7%), which has the share of 11%. The three-leaders is closed by the Rolls-Royce (9 units; -31%) with a share that is equal to 7%. Also in the Russian roads in March there were appeared 4 new Maserati and 2 - Ferrari and Lamborghini.

As the director of analytical agency "AUTOSTAT", Sergey Tselikov, the decline of the market of luxury cars in the last month is connected with the high comparative base of the previous period. It was a year ago - in March of 2015, the second – it was recorded the peak of sales in the Luxury segment (176 units). Although, if we consider the statistics for the first quarter of 2016 then the market of luxury cars in the country still shows growth (+ 25% to 304 units).
