KIA strengthens the leadership in the golf class segment in the Russian market

The company KIA is a leader in the C-segment with two models: the cee'd and Cerato. The agency "AUTOSTAT" was informed about it by the press service of KIA Motors Rus, by noting that the share of the brand in this segment of the market on the basis of the year was 18%, which is more by 5 percentage points than in 2014. Growth of the share of the brand KIA in the C-segment in the company is associated with the update of range of cee'd (cee'd, pro_cee'd, cee'd_sw, cee'd GT, pro_cee'd GT) in October 2015, as well as a balanced price policy of KIA Motors Rus, public and private initiatives of KIA to support the demand and dealer network development in Russia.

In general, according to KIA Motors Rus, the share of class-golf in the Russian car market fell from 13% in 2014 to 9% by the results of 2015. "In 2014-2015, we have seen a shift in demand from the C-segment to the segment B / B +. The share of this segment of the market increased by 7% compared to the year of 2014 and it reached 37.3% in 2015. Share of our best-selling KIA Rio in the segment was 16%, this model took the third place in terms of sales among the B / B + class. In 2015 KIA Rio was updated, which together with government programs to stimulate demand allowed us to increase sales of model in Russia in 2015 even against the background of a declining market,"- commented the press service of KIA Motors Rus.

As previously "AUTOSTAT" reported, by the results of January of 2016 Russian dealers KIA sold 9049 cars (-20.2%), which enabled the brand to keep a leading position among foreign brands, represented in Russia. The market share of KIA in Russia continued to grow and it reached 11% in January of 2016. The absolute leader in sales in the model line-KIA is Rio - the last month, sales of this model were 3,553 units, less by 31.4% compared to the last year. Increased demand was noted for the KIA Sportage: buyers received 2407 cars. This allowed the Sportage not just to take the second place in terms of sales in the whole line of KIA in Russia, but also to demonstrate the result better by 55.6% than in January of 2015. The January sales results of KIA Sportage surpassed the sales of this model in any of the individual months of 2015. The third place by popularity in Russia was occupied by the family KIA cee'd (five-door hatchback cee'd, pro_cee'd three-door, wagon and sporting version cee'd_sw cee'd GT and pro_cee'd GT). This model of C-segment was chosen by 1196 customers (-8.1%). Also the top-five of the most popular models in January included a mid-size crossover KIA Sorento (442 units, -72%) and sedan KIA Cerato (431 units, -17.9%).
