During the preparation of the report "Vehicle parc in the Russian Federation as of July 1, 2023" experts from the AUTOSTAT agency divided the Russian parc of passenger cars into federal districts. As it turned out, over a quarter (28.6%) of all passenger cars in the country are registered in the Central Federal District. This is the highest figure among all eight federal districts.
Second place in this ranking is occupied by the Volga Federal District (20%), which accounts for every fifth car. There are approximately half as many cars in the Siberian Federal District (11.4%). Every tenth passenger car is registered in the North-West (10.2%) or the South (10.1%), and every eleventh is registered in the Urals (9%).
The fewest passenger cars in Russia are registered in the Far East and the North Caucasus, whose share in the total parc was 5.7% and 5%, respectively. We should recall that in total there are 45.7 million passenger cars in our country (as of July 1st, 2023).
