TOP-10 of most popular used cars in 1H 2023

According to the data of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT", 2.75 million used cars were bought in Russia for 6 months of this year. This is 26.8% more than in the 1st half of 2022. At the same time, the volume of the secondary market for cars of Russian brands grew by 9.4%, and foreign cars - by 33.3%. In the segment of Russian used cars, the LADA Samara family remains the most popular - from January to June it sold 125.3 thousand vehicles, demonstrating an increase of 5%.

The indicators of VAZ "classics" were almost 90 thousand vehicles (+5%), "Priora" - 76.3 thousand vehicles (+4%). Fourth place is occupied by cars of the "2110" family (74.2 thousand vehicles; + 5%). LADA Granta is in the top five with the result of 70.1 thousand vehicles (+25%). Experts noted that the entire TOP-10 shows a positive trend. The largest growth  is shown by LADA Vesta (+33%), and the smallest by LADA Priora (+4%). The most popular foreign car in the secondary market of the Russian Federation for the specified period was the Ford Focus, the resale of which in the 1st half of 2023 was 58.6 thousand vehicles (+32%). The second place is taken by Hyundai Solaris (54.3 thousand vehicles; +21%), the third - by Kia Rio (54 thousand vehicles; +24%).

This is followed by two Toyota cars - Corolla (49.2 thousand vehicles; + 35%) and Camry (45.6 thousand vehicles; + 42%). All presented second-hand foreign cars recorded the market growth. At the same time, it is the highest for Skoda Octavia (+45%), and the lowest for Chevrolet Niva (+7%).
