Are car owners ready to buy Russian or Chinese tires?

Back in April 2022, when calculating the stocks of car tires in Russia, experts reported that with consumption at the level of 2021, they would be enough for two years in advance. However, some foreign producers have since left the country. Therefore, the experts of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" decided to find out the readiness of Russian car owners to switch to domestic analogues in the event of a shortage of imported tires. And if so, what are their preferences for summer tires. For this purpose, an online survey was conducted, the participants of which were asked the question: "In connection with the possible exit from the market of European, Korean, Japanese manufacturers, which brands of summer tires would you prefer?"

More than half of the respondents reported that, if necessary, they are ready to buy tires of domestic and Chinese manufacturers for their cars - in total, this category of owners accounted for 50.7%. At the same time, 39.8% preferred Russian brands, 10.9% preferred Chinese brands. Also, the respondents had the opportunity to name not one, but several brands, and after counting the votes, it turned out that the TOP-3 of Russian leaders included the brands Cordiant (44%), KAMA (31%) and Viatti (13%). However, almost a third of the survey participants (32%) said they were not ready to switch to domestic or Chinese tires - they would still look for an opportunity to buy products from European / Korean / Japanese brands. Other 17.2% of survey participants found it difficult to answer.
