Today, when new cars are becoming less affordable (first of all European, Japanese, American and even Korean brands), their purchase through parallel imports is gaining popularity. In addition to specialized companies involved in the import of cars on order from abroad, official dealers also offer such services. At the same time, distributors warn that such vehicles are not covered by the manufacturer's warranty. What do Russians think about buying a new car, but without a guarantee from the manufacturer?
It was found out by the experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" and "Za Rulem", having conducted a corresponding survey in September, in which more than 1200 people took part. According to the results of the survey, almost two-thirds of respondents are ready to buy a car without a guarantee. At the same time, more than a half (51.5%) of those surveyed will do this on the condition that its price is lower (than that of the one with a guarantee). 8.3% of survey participants in this regard are not guided by material considerations: if they really like such a car, they will buy it. But 6.1% will agree to buy if the dealer offers insurance against breakdowns.
More than a quarter of respondents were categorically against such a purchase. Some (13.8%) believe that a guarantee is needed, while others (12.8%) would prefer a used car. The remaining 7.5% of respondents do not know what to do - they need to think.
