As of January 1st, 2022, 16.5 thousand electric vehicles were registered on the territory of the Russian Federation, experts of the AUTOSTAT analytical agency and Electronic Passport JSC calculated. More than 70% of the total number of such vehicles, or 11,765 units, belong to the Nissan brand. In second place of the ranking, far behind the leader, there is Tesla (1,660 units), which accounts for 10% of the total.

The third place is occupied by the German brand Porsche (674 units, 4% of the fleet). The TOP-5 also includes the brands Audi (522 units) and Mitsubishi (465 units). Experts note that the top-five have 91% of the entire electric vehicle fleet in our country. It should be noted that four of the five leading brands in the Russian market are characterized by the presence of only one electric model in the model range. So, Nissan has a Leaf, Porsche has a Taycan, Audi has an e-tron, Mitsubishi has an i-MiEV. Only Tesla has a lineup of several models.

As for the territorial distribution of the fleet of electric cars, experts calculated that 68% of their total number is in three districts - Central, Far Eastern and Siberian. If we consider these statistics in more detail, broken down by regions, we note that at the beginning of 2022, the leader by the number of electric vehicles in our country is Moscow, where 2,161 electric cars are registered.

In second place there is Primorsky Krai (1,652 units), followed by the Irkutsk Region (1,540 units). The TOP-5 of regions also included Krasnodar (1,085 units) and Khabarovsk (861 units) regions.
