Note that the plant in Kaluga has been assembling German brand cars for 15 years and in Nizhny Novgorod - for 9 years. As of January 1, 2022, there were more than 2 million cars of this brand in the park of the Russian Federation. Among them, 1810.4 thousand are passenger cars; 216.1 thousand - light commercial vehicles. According to the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT", for the last 15 years alone, the market volume of new Volkswagen cars in Russia was about 1.5 million units.

Their peaks were in 2012 and 2013, when 172.5 thousand and 170.3 thousand units were purchased, respectively. At the same time, in 2020, the brand had the maximum market share (6.8%). The most popular model of the brand in our country for quite a long time remains the Volkswagen Polo, which is consistently included in the TOP-10 of the most popular cars in the Russian market.
