TOP-10 of car brands, for the purchase of which the most money was spent


In 2021, the residents of the Russian Federation spent 3 trillion 054.6 billion rubles on the purchase of new cars, which is 22.1% higher than in 2020. This was established by the experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" during the preparation of the report "The market of passenger cars in Russia. Results of 2021, trends and prospects”. The experts also compiled a rating of brands, the purchase of cars of which was spent the most money. The leadership here belongs to the Korean brand Kia, the figure of which was 340.1 billion rubles. In second place there is the production of Japanese Toyota (293.8 billion rubles).

Comparable results in this regard have the German premium brand BMW and the domestic LADA (278.3 billion and 274.6 billion rubles, respectively). The top five is finished by the German premium brand Mercedes-Benz (263.7 billion rubles). It should be noted that the Russian brand has the lowest weighted average price in the TOP-10 - 812.3 thousand rubles. And the highest it is at Mercedes-Benz - 6.4 million rubles. The TOP-10 of brands by market capacity* for 2021 also included: Hyundai (250.4 billion rubles), Volkswagen (158 billion rubles), Renault (153.3 billion rubles), Skoda (148.1 billion rubles) and Nissan (105.3 billion rubles).

Experts noted that in comparison with the results of a year ago, all the presented brands recorded an increase in the market capacity. This was the best done by BMW (+30.4%) and Mercedes-Benz (+26.1%). The smallest dynamics is observed at Volkswagen (+1.3%).
