Russia ranks the 11th in the ranking of world car markets

In the ranking of the world's largest car markets, compiled at the end of 2021, Russia is the 11th one. Such data was provided by the director of the agency "AUTOSTAT" Sergey Tselikov in his report at the auto business forum "ForAuto - 2022. Results and forecasts of the car market".

Recall that in 2021 the volume of the Russian car market was 1.54 million new cars, which is 3% higher than in 2020. Despite the growth, Russia did not manage to get into the TOP-10 – there were not enough 100 thousand sold cars. It is also interesting that France, Great Britain and Canada occupying the 8th, 9th and 10th lines are separated from each other by only 10 thousand sold cars. At the same time, the markets of these countries yielded to ours in terms of dynamics (Canada even showed a fall). On the other hand, Russia is ahead of Italy, Australia, Mexico and Spain in terms of car market volume.

As for the rest of the world, China remains the largest car market in the world - more than 25 million cars were sold here the last year. The USA is the second one (almost 15 million units), Japan is the third one (about 4.5 million units). The results of others are presented in the picture. In total, global sales of new cars in 2021 were 81.31 million units, which is 4.6% higher than the result of 2020.
