For 9 months of 2021, 586.7 thousand new cars of the SUV segment were sold in our country. According to the experts of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT", it was 50% of the total volume of the passenger car market. Most of the cars in the SUV segment during this period were sold by the Korean manufacturer Hyundai, in the sales volume of which more than a half (56%) fell on the SUV segment. In quantitative terms, it was 73.4 thousand crossovers.

The second place was taken by the French brand Renault, which sold 57.7 thousand of such cars, and the third was the Korean brand Kia (53.3 thousand units). Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster and Kia Sportage are the most popular models in the SUV segment of this trio. About three quarters of all SUV sales of Hyundai belonged to Creta, a half of sales of Renault belonged to Duster, and more than a third of sales of Kia belonged to Sportage. The TOP-10 of brands-leaders in terms of sales of crossovers and SUVs also included: Toyota (44.1 thousand units), LADA (39.6 thousand units), Nissan (35.8 thousand units), Volkswagen (31.4 thousand units), Skoda (28.7 thousand units), Chery (24.7 thousand units) and Haval (24 thousand units).

And if the domestic brand has the lowest share of SUV sales (15%) in the ranking, then the Japanese Nissan, as well as the Chinese Chery and Haval have the whole model range represented exclusively by crossovers, so the share reaches 100%.
