The capacity of the Russian market of new passenger cars in the 1st half of 2021 was 1,531 billion rubles. As experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" note, this is 54% higher than in January-June of the last year (997 billion rubles). During this period, most of the money was spent on the purchase of Kia cars - 172.4 billion rubles. The second place is taken by LADA products (148.5 billion rubles). The third line of our rating is occupied by Mercedes-Benz, with a market capacity of 139.3 billion rubles. Another German premium brand is the next - BMW (135.5 billion rubles), and the Japanese Toyota finishes the top-five (134.2 billion rubles).
Note that the Russian brand has the lowest weighted average price in the TOP-10 - 768.3 thousand rubles. And it is the highest at Mercedes-Benz – 6 133.1 thousand rubles. The TOP-10 of brands in terms of market capacity also included: Hyundai (132.6 billion rubles), Volkswagen (88.8 billion rubles), Skoda (86.9 billion rubles), Renault (78.1 billion rubles) and Lexus (51.1 billion rubles). Experts note that in comparison with the previous year's results, the market capacity of all brands in the top ten has increased.
Curiously, the mass brands LADA (+ 69.5%) and Skoda (+ 65.3%) succeeded best of all. The smallest growth rate in the top-10 was at the Japanese Toyota (+ 21.2%).
