The experts of AUTOSTAT agency have analyzed in detail the state of the used passenger car market in Russia. Assessing the dynamics in this market, they considered that it would be useful to compare the results of 2021 not only with the previous year, as in April 2020 there was a global force majeure associated with the coronavirus pandemic, which directly affected the car market. Let us remind you that many car dealerships were closed then, private sellers sharply reduced their activity, and registrations of cars went with great restrictions and collapsed to the volume of 251.8 thousand units.

In May the situation improved somewhat (up to a volume of 305 thousand units), and today the dynamics of April and May sales on this low base shows high growth - in April the market volume more than doubled. Experts found it much more interesting to compare the resale volumes of 2021 with 2019, and by months. As you can see, the graphs are perfectly correlated and it is this approach that allows us to conclude about the dynamic progressive growth of the secondary passenger car market.
