"AUTOSTAT OMNIBUS" is an annual project of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT", which is a survey of car owners according to a certain methodology and makes it possible to compare assessment indicators over time.
In the spring of 2022 (in addition to the annual autumn wave), the fourth spring wave of the project will be released, which is aimed at identifying consumer preferences in the purchase and operation of summer tires.
Recall that in January it grew by 7%.
For 6 months of this year, sales of new passenger cars in Russia were almost 812 thousand units, which is 36.4% higher in compare with the same period of 2020. Experts of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" noted that positive dynamics was recorded in almost all segments, except for C, which showed a decline of 17.2%. But the best growth among the presented in the picture is shown by the E segment (+ 69.9%).
The largest segments in our market are still SUV and B, which together account for more than 86% of the total sales. So, from January to June, crossovers and SUVs were sold in the amount of almost 400 thousand units. This is 37.5% higher than in the 1st half of 2020, and corresponds to a market share of 49.2%. Hyundai Creta still keeps the leadership among models with the result of 38.8 thousand units (+ 31.3%). Segment B cars were sold in amount of 303.8 thousand units for six months, taking a share of 37.4%. Their sales during the reporting period grew stronger (+ 38.8%) than SUVs. And the most popular model is still the domestic LADA Granta (71.2 thousand units; + 42.6%). Segment D should be separately noted, with a market share exceeding 5%.
It is interesting that for the first time in many years a bestseller has changed in this segment. In the first half of the year it was Kia K5, sales of which were 15.3 thousand units. In turn, the former leader - Toyota Camry - dropped to the second place. The share of each of the remaining segments was less than 3%.
