In January - June 2021, 870,749 new passenger cars and LCVs were sold in Russia. This is 36.9% more than for the same period in 2020. Experts of AUTOSTAT agency decided to study the results of the automotive market in the first half of the year in more details. Domestic LADA remains the leader in the Russian market; during the period under review, its sales came up to 200,219 vehicles, which is 51% growth. Thus, its share came up to 23%. Next in the ranking are Korean Kia (108,344 vehicles) and Hyundai (91,070 vehicles), which also increased their sales (+33.4% and +42.6%, respectively).
Almost all brands in the TOP-10 have positive dynamics; slight decline was registered only by Nissan (-1.6%). At the same time, Skoda had the best dynamics (+54.3%). The domestic LADA Granta is the leader in the model structure of the Russian market with 71,208 vehicles sold during the first half of the year, that is 42.6% more than a year ago. The LADA Vesta is on the second place with 57,031 vehicles (+33.8%), and the Korean Kia Rio is the third (44,750 vehicles; +23.7%). TOP-5 also includes two Hyundai representatives - the Creta crossover (38,800 vehicles; +31.3%) and the Solaris sedan (33,541 vehicles; +81.9%).
We should mention that all twenty leading models had positive dynamics. The highest sales growth was registered by the Skoda Karog (+128%), the lowest - by the Toyota RAV4 (+19%).
