How do car owners in Russia choose summer tires?

As a part of the preparation of the marketing report "AUTOSTAT OMNIBUS - 2021. Car tires: the preferences of car owners (summer tires, third wave)", the specialists of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" decided to find out what parameters Russian car owners pay attention to when choosing summer tires for their cars. The online survey was conducted in April 2021, more than 3 thousand respondents took part in it.

It turned out that almost every second (49%) of the respondents considers the optimal ratio of price and quality to be the most important thing when choosing tires. This argument was given the top priority by the respondents. The second * place was taken by the characteristics that guarantee the wheels good grip on dry and wet roads (noted by 45% of the respondents), the third - the price (42%). Approximately equal number of votes was received for such parameters as handling on a wet road and tire wear resistance (about 40%). In fact, every third participant of the survey, when choosing, considers their braking as important. Wet braking is important for 34% of respondents, total braking distance – for 33%.

More than 30% of respondents rely on reliability, on time-tested tires. Slightly fewer, but quite comparable numbers (30%) want to be confident in the quality of their tires when cornering. Acoustic comfort (29% of respondents) finishes the TOP-10 of parameters that Russians pay attention to when buying summer tires. The new report, prepared by experts, contains detailed information not only about the parameters of tires that affect the choice of car owners, but also the assessment of the satisfaction of the tires they use, plans for the next purchase and other information useful to specialists.
