How have prices of popular models grown in the Russian market for the previous 10 years?

The best-selling cars in Russia are so due to their price. The experts of the Auto Price website decided to see how much their price has grown for the previous 10 years, since 2012. Let us explain that the calculation was based on the minimum price at the beginning of the year for a car in the basic configuration.

The most affordable and at the same time the most popular car in our country, domestic LADA Granta, has more than doubled in price for 10 years. From January 2012 to May 2021, the price of this model grew by maximum 127% - from 229 to 519.9 thousand rubles. This is how much Granta now costs in the sedan body, and besides, the market also offers versions in liftback bodies (from 541.9 thousand rubles), station wagon (548.9 thousand rubles) and a hatchback (from 565.5 thousand rubles).

Renault Logan is the next by price, the starting equipment of which is available today from 706 thousand rubles. This is 109% higher than 10 years ago, when the same car could be bought for 338 thousand rubles. Korean Hyundai Solaris (from 840 thousand rubles) and KIA Rio (from 889.9 thousand rubles) have higher prices. For 10 years, both models showed almost equal growth - by 90%. At the same time, KIA Rio has lost the title of the most expensive car from the top-five of leaders, losing it to Volkswagen Polo.

The price of Volkswagen Polo today is the highest among these models and starts from 957.9 thousand rubles. This is 123% higher than in 2012. This is largely due to the fact that in 2020 a new generation of Volkswagen Polo in the "liftback" body entered the market, with a new set of power units and a new set of options.
