Chinese brands continue to increase their share in the Russian market
In a short time, car sharing has managed to occupy its niche in the auto business of large cities in Russia. Specialists of the agency "AUTOSTAT" and Auto Mail.ru in the course of a joint online survey decided to find out the criteria by which Russians choose the car sharing. The survey was conducted in October - November of 2020 as a part of the preparation of the marketing report “Alternative to a Personal Car: Choice of Russian Car Owners”.
The study participants (more than 13 thousand people) could choose several of the proposed answers. It turned out that almost 70% of the respondents prefer car-sharing services because in some cases it is cheaper to use their services than a taxi. Almost every second respondent (50.9%) is satisfied with this type of short-term car rental because it allows "not to spend money for the maintenance" of your own car.
Time savings were noted by 48.1% of respondents, meaning all the same trips to service stations, gas stations, searching for parking, etc. (that is, everything that its owner is forced to do to maintain his personal vehicle) ... Almost every third (31.8%) survey participant, as it turned out, considers car sharing to be preferable to a private car owning - because using it, you do not need to worry about the safety of the car at night. Well, 19.6% - that is, almost every fifth of the respondents indicated that they choose this way of a car using only because they do not have enough money (or other opportunities) to buy their own car.
