"AUTOSTAT OMNIBUS" is an annual project of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT", which is a survey of car owners according to a certain methodology and makes it possible to compare assessment indicators over time.
In the spring of 2022 (in addition to the annual autumn wave), the fourth spring wave of the project will be released, which is aimed at identifying consumer preferences in the purchase and operation of summer tires.
For eight months of 2023, 294 thousand passenger cars rolled off Russian assembly lines
For the whole 2020, according to the AEB, 1 million 486.5 thousand new cars were sold in Russia. This is lower by 8.9% than in 2019. The experts of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" decided to consider how these sales were distributed by body type.
Thus, more than a half of sold cars (52.3%) were in the station wagon (776.9 thousand units), which also includes almost all crossovers and SUVs. In addition, in terms of body type, this was the only segment that, in compare with 2019, fell less than the passenger car market as a whole.
About 30% were occupied by sedan cars (439 thousand units). Other 17.4% (or 258.7 thousand units) belonged to hatchbacks and liftbacks. Pickups and coupes / convertibles / roadsters have the smallest share in the Russian market - in 2020 they even took less than 1% in total (0.6% and 0.2%, respectively). Note also that both of these segments, against the background of a general market decline, fell more than others (-16.4% and -23.8%).
