For the last few years, there are 3-4 used cars per 1 sold new passenger car. This is the conclusion reached by the experts of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" during the study of sales of new and used cars in our country.
We took 2014 as a starting point - it was then that the maximum indicators of the primary and secondary markets were noted during the crisis period. Then the ratio between them was 1:2.6. For the next years, it has shifted towards used cars and is in the range 1: 3 - 1: 4. Moreover, this was the most clearly manifested in 2016.
At the end of 10 months of 2020, the ratio between sales of new and used passenger cars is 1: 3.8. At the same time, the decline in the secondary market is insignificant (-0.6%) - in contrast to the primary (-11.1%, according to the AEB).
