The experts of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" decided to look at the results of the Russian car market for 10 months of 2020 in more detail, broken down by segments. Note that during this period, with negative dynamics in literally all segments, crossovers and SUVs (SUVs) were most sold in our country: they had 48.3% of the market.
The second most popular segment was the B segment with a share of 37.3%. Thus, in January-October, sales of cars in the SUV and B segments were more than 85% of the total. It's curious how their leader models felt within each segment. Note that some of them occupy more than 90% of the “classmates”. For example, the sale of KIA Picanto for the indicated 10 months (2 thousand units) provided the Korean model 96% in segment A.
Sales of the domestic model LADA Largus (29.2 thousand units) - the leader in the MPV / LAV segment - occupied more than 93% among classmates. Obviously, such a high share is due to the small model range on the market and weak competition. In the SUV segment, where the competition is quite high, its leader – Hyundai Creta (sales volume - 58.8 thousand units) - has a share of 10.3% and in segment B the leader - LADA Granta has 22%.
Segment leaders of D, C, E, F -Toyota Camry (22.4 thousand units), Skoda Octavia (20.2 thousand units), Mercedes-Benz E-Klasse (1.1 thousand units), Mercedes S -Klasse (0.8 thousand units) - have a share of more than a third. The leader in sales among pickups - UAZ Pickup, sold in the amount of 2.2 thousand units, has a 31% share in its segment. The coupe / convertible leader, Mercedes E-Klasse, accounts for almost 28% of its segment.
