Modern life is pushing us more and more towards online transactions. And it's not just about coronavirus infection and minimizing personal contact. Online in solving everyday issues adds comfort to us and saves time that can be spent on something useful and enjoyable.

Experts of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" and Auto Mail.ru decided to find out how Russians would react to the fact that the purchased cars will be delivered to their homes, like some kind of pizza or mail, getting the car without showing up at the dealership. In August 2020, when preparing a new report "Online car purchase: the opinion of Russian consumers", a joint survey was conducted, in which more than 2 thousand respondents (car owners of different brands) took part. The purchase of a car was divided into stages, and the participants were asked to mark where they are ready to perform certain actions in the process of a car purchasing.

The survey showed that at the final stage - the stage of a car receiving - a fairly high percentage of respondents would like to transfer this procedure from the dealership to a place more convenient for them. This desire was expressed by almost 60% of Mercedes-Benz owners, car owners of the brand are leading in this rating. The second place is taken by Audi customers (42%); the third - by BMW (38%). Note that the top three were exclusively premium brands, which probably indicates the desire of this category of car owners (usually wealthy business people) to save time.

Among other seven brands (Opel, Ford, Mazda, Renault, Mitsubishi, Skoda, Hyundai), the number of those wishing to receive remote-controlled cars exceeded a third (over 33%). For Volkswagen, Nissan, LADA, KIA, Chevrolet, Toyota brands, more than a quarter of the survey participants (range from 25 to 33%) also confirmed their desire to change the usual procedure for a car receiving. The survey showed that among 17 participants of the rating *, Honda owners (17%) strive to a lesser extent to "remote control", only every sixth.

* The rating includes brands for which a representative sample was collected - at least 100 profiles per a brand.
