"AUTOSTAT OMNIBUS" is an annual project of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT", which is a survey of car owners according to a certain methodology and makes it possible to compare assessment indicators over time.

In the spring of 2022 (in addition to the annual autumn wave), the fourth spring wave of the project will be released, which is aimed at identifying consumer preferences in the purchase and operation of summer tires.

Dealer networks in the Russian Federation by origin of brands: how have they changed?


According to monitoring data carried out by specialists of the AUTOSTAT analytical agency, as of April 2020, there are almost 3.3 thousand dealerships for the sale and maintenance of cars in Russia (with the exception of service centers).

More than a quarter (26.8%) of them is represented by European brands, among which there are 881 car centers. Japanese brands (717 units), which have 21.8%, have slightly fewer car dealerships. Chinese brands account for every fifth dealer center in the country (20.2% or 666 units).

Practically the same number of car centers is at the Russian and Korean manufacturers - 424 and 418 units, respectively. Significantly fewer dealers represent the interests of American brands (135 units). Experts at the AUTOSTAT analytical agency noted that for the last year (from April 2019 to April 2020), the total number of dealers in the country decreased by 175.

At the same time, 650 existing dealer contracts were terminated and 475 new contracts were concluded. In quantitative terms, most of the dealers during this time were lost by the "Americans" (-142).

Korean manufacturers have decreased by 28 auto centers per a year. But European, Japanese, Chinese and Russian brands have an increase in the dealer network.
