According to the analytic agency AUTOSTAT, as of January 1st, 2020, there are 4.17 million light commercial vehicles (LCVs) in Russia. The average age of this fleet is 15.6 years, and 47% of all LCVs in the country being over the age of 15 years.
The share of foreign cars is more than a third of the Russian fleet (37%). At the same time, legal entities own 24% of the total volume of light commercial vehicles. Diesel fuel has 32% of the total fleet of LCVs, and 28% of such vehicles comply with Euro-4 environmental standards (and higher). The largest of the regional LCV fleets is located in Moscow, where 285.3 thousand units are registered. In the Moscow region, which is the second one in the rating, there are 234.6 thousand units. Primorsky territory finished the top-3 (182.5 thousand units).
In five other constituent entities of the Russian Federation (Krasnodar territory, St. Petersburg, Rostov region, Sverdlovsk region, Irkutsk region), more than 100 thousand light commercial vehicles are also registered. As for the brand structure, the leader is the domestic GAZ (1,706.6 thousand units), UAZ is the second one (664.4 thousand units). Among foreign cars, the Japanese Toyota LCV has the largest number of cars in the country (253.5 thousand units), it is in the third place in this brand rating. Moreover, these three brands have 63% of the total LCV fleet in the Russian Federation.
