A newcomer to the market of new electric vehicles in Russia...
According to the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, as of January 1st, 2020, there are 3.78 million trucks in Russia. The average age of this fleet is 21.2 years, and 64.7% of all trucks in the country being over the age of 15 years. The share of foreign vehicles is almost a third of the Russian fleet (33%). At the same time, 52.1% of total volume of HCV is owned by legal entities. Diesel trucks have 69.5% of the total fleet, and 19.8% of such vehicles correspond to Euro-4 environmental standards (and above).
The largest of the regional fleets of trucks is located in Moscow, where there are 160.3 thousand units. In the Moscow region, which is the second one in the rating, there are other 155.8 thousand units. Krasnodar territory finished the top-3 (144.2 thousand units). In five other constituent entities of the Russian Federation (Rostov region, Irkutsk region, Tatarstan, Khanty-Mansi autonomous okrug, Novosibirsk region), there were also registered more than 100 thousand trucks.
As for the brand structure of the Russian truck fleet, the leader is KAMAZ (927.3 thousand units), GAZ (729.8 thousand units) is the second one, and ZIL finished the TOP-3 (495.6 thousand units). Moreover, these three brands have about 57% of the total HCV fleet in the Russian Federation. Among foreign cars, Volvo brand has the largest number of trucks in the country (105.4 thousand units).
