"AUTOSTAT OMNIBUS" is an annual project of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT", which is a survey of car owners according to a certain methodology and makes it possible to compare assessment indicators over time.
In the spring of 2022 (in addition to the annual autumn wave), the fourth spring wave of the project will be released, which is aimed at identifying consumer preferences in the purchase and operation of summer tires.
Now offered in two body types – sedan and liftback.
Last year, sales of new cars in Russia reached 1 million 632.4 thousand units, which is 2.3% lower in compare with the previous year. At the same time, experts of the analytical agency AUTOSTAT noted that there is a positive trend in three market segments (D, E, MPV).
Traditionally, the largest segment of the Russian market is SUV. So, for the last year, 727 thousand crossovers and SUVs were sold (-0.3%), which is 44.5% of the total number of sold cars in Russia. Hyundai Creta is the leader (71.5 thousand units; + 5.8%), followed by Renault Duster (39 thousand units; -5.7%) and Volkswagen Tiguan (37.2 thousand units; +11 ,1%).
The segment B is the second one; its share was 37.4% in the previous year. In January - December of 2019, sales of cars of this class reached 609.8 thousand units (-2.2%). The leader here is the domestic LADA Granta (135.8 thousand units; + 27.8%). LADA Vesta (111.5 thousand units; + 2.9%) is the second one in terms of sales, and KIA Rio finished the top-3 (92.5 thousand units; -7.7%).
The segment D is the next, with a huge lag, the share of which was 5.6% in 2019. Sales of cars of this class reached 92.1 thousand units, by showing the sales growth (+ 2.6%). This allowed segment D to enter the top-3 for the first time. In turn, segment C dropped out of there - with 86.1 thousand sold cars and a decrease of 22.9%, which turned out to be the strongest in the market.
