"AUTOSTAT OMNIBUS" is an annual project of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT", which is a survey of car owners according to a certain methodology and makes it possible to compare assessment indicators over time.
In the spring of 2022 (in addition to the annual autumn wave), the fourth spring wave of the project will be released, which is aimed at identifying consumer preferences in the purchase and operation of summer tires.
For eight months of 2023, 294 thousand passenger cars rolled off Russian assembly lines
According to the assessment of the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, for 9 months of 2019, slightly more than 98 thousand new passenger cars equipped with a diesel engine were sold in Russia. This corresponds to 8.3% of the total Russian market.
Leadership by sales of diesel cars belongs to the German premium brand BMW, sales of which were 21,353 such units during the reporting period. The second place is occupied by the Japanese brand Toyota (16,247 units), which was previously a leader in this segment. German premium brand Mercedes-Benz finishes the top-3 (9,646 units).
Sales results of diesel cars of other brands are presented in the table. At the same time, 10 leading brands have 90% of the total sales of such cars. It is also worth noting that for a particular brand, the share of diesel cars in the sales structure can differ significantly. For example, for the premium Land Rover and BMW it exceeds 70%, and for some mass brands (Volkswagen, Hyundai, Renault, KIA, and Skoda) it does not reach 10%.
As for the most popular models with a diesel engine, the representatives of the SUV segment form the top-3 of leaders. So, ToyotaLandCruiserPrado SUV is the leader here with a result of 6,550 units. Renault Duster crossover is the second one (5,234 units), and Hyundai SantaFe is the third one (4,972 units).
