According to the data of the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, as of July 1st, 2019, there were 4.6 thousand electric cars in our country.
More than 80% of this is presented by the Nissan Leaf model, which are 3.7 thousand units in quantitative terms. Also in Russia, 350 electric vehicles of the American Tesla brand are registered, which include models 3, S and X. There are less Mitsubishi I-MIEV electric cars (308 units) in the country. The indicators of other models look even more modest and reach less than a hundred units.
According to the experts of the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, the Russian fleet of electric vehicles is growing due to used cars, which is especially clearly seen from the statistics of the last three years. If the market of new electric vehicles only this year exceeded the mark of 200 units for the first time (and by the end of the year, according to our forecasts, it could reach 350 units), then the secondary market of electric cars from 2016 to 2018 grew 7 times! Moreover, at the end of 2019, this figure may be 10-fold.
Such a sharp increase in the market of used electric vehicles is largely due to the import of such cars from Japan to the Far East. Over 90% of resold electric cars in Russia are Nissan Leaf models.
