"AUTOSTAT OMNIBUS" is an annual project of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT", which is a survey of car owners according to a certain methodology and makes it possible to compare assessment indicators over time.
In the spring of 2022 (in addition to the annual autumn wave), the fourth spring wave of the project will be released, which is aimed at identifying consumer preferences in the purchase and operation of summer tires.
The official start of production of new trucks is scheduled for the second quarter of 2023
Experts of the AUTOSTAT analytical agency found out that the share of foreign-made cars reached 15% of the total market of new passenger cars in Russia, and then decided to consider how this figure could vary depending on a particular brand.
It is natural that the imported Cadillac, Jeep, Honda have a 100% result here. In addition to them, German MINI, Porsche, Smart, Japanese Lexus, Subaru, Suzuki, English Jaguar, Land Rover, Chinese DFM, Foton, assembled in Belarus Geely, put on the production in Kazakhstan JAC and a number of other brands are also in this category.
It is clear that all mentioned above brands differ by market volumes, but it is important that some of them try to localize or keep their production in Russia. Such brand is the German premium Mercedes-Benz, which already has 1.5% of sold cars for 9 months that were produced in Russia. It should be said the same about the Chinese Haval, a similar figure of which is 10 times higher.
The German premium brand BMW and the French Citroen have about 60% of foreign car sales. The figure of the Chinese brand Chery is close to 50%. Japanese Toyota (37.3%) and Chinese Changan (33.1%) are also in the range “from 30 to 60%” by the share of imported cars. This result is even lower for Mitsubishi (23.6%), Genesis (15.4%), Brilliance (14.4%) and Volkswagen (12.5%), over 75% of which are assembled in our country.
Among the brands that produced the “lion's share” of sold cars in Russia, we could name Chevrolet, Nissan and Mazda (the import share is only about 4%), as well as Skoda (2%) and Renault (1.6%). A number of manufacturers sell only localized cars in Russia (domestic LADA and UAZ, Japanese Datsun), or only few imported units (Korean KIA and Hyundai, American Ford, Chinese FAW and Lifan).
