"AUTOSTAT OMNIBUS" is an annual project of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT", which is a survey of car owners according to a certain methodology and makes it possible to compare assessment indicators over time.

In the spring of 2022 (in addition to the annual autumn wave), the fourth spring wave of the project will be released, which is aimed at identifying consumer preferences in the purchase and operation of summer tires.

According to the assessment of the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, in the 1H19, the Russians purchased almost 330 thousand new crossovers and SUVs. Thus, the SUV segment is still the largest in our market with a share of about 43%. Most of all vehicles of SUV segment are sold by the Korean Hyundai brand in Russia - a little more than 51 thousand of such vehicles were sold for 6 months. Renault (32.4 thousand units) is the second one, Nissan is the third one (29.9 thousand units). Also, more than 20 thousand new crossovers and SUVs during this period were sold by Toyota, KIA and Volkswagen. The figures of Mitsubishi, LADA, BMW and Chevrolet, which are also in the TOP-10, range from 10 to 19 thousand units.

According to experts of the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, three of ten brands represented brands have SUV share of more than 95% in total sales. For example, at Chevrolet, almost the whole sales volume belongs to the Niva SUV. Almost the whole line of cars of Japanese Nissan and Mitsubishi also consists of SUVs. Four brands, among which there are two leaders, crossovers and SUVs occupy from 50% to 60% of sales (Hyundai, Renault, Toyota, BMW). At Volkswagen, this figure is quite a bit lower of 40%, while at KIA, only every fifth sold car belongs to SUV.

The smallest share of SUVs (about 9%) in the total sales volume of the brand is fixed at LADA - thanks to the legendary 4x4 SUV. We also note that the three leading brands of this rating have the SUV models as the bestsellers. So, 40% of Hyundai sales are occupied by the Creta crossover, which keeps the leadership in the segment as a whole. Duster model of Renault has 29% of the total sales volume, while Nissan has about every third sold unit - this is the Qashqai crossover.
